1951
In March Konstanty is going to Cracow, where on the Wawel Castle [Wikipedia source] he's watching the renovated sculptures from the Wit Stwosz's Altar [Wikipedia source].
In April, together with Adam Mauersberger, Konstanty writes a drama about Andrzej Towiański. The drama, however, never has been played in a theatre.
Musical Theatre from Łódź orders a new Polish text to Offenbach's operetta — Orfeusz w piekle [Orpheus in the Underworld]. Text by Gałczyński, however never had been used.
During his third visit in Pranie, Konstanty works on Wit Stwosz. Also writes a series of fairytales Ezop świeżo malowany [Esophus freshly painted] and A Poem for the Traitor as a poet's response on Czesław Miłosz's refusal to return to Poland after his term as a cultural attaché in Polish Consulate in Paris has ended. Gałczyński was always convinced, that everyone should share a fate of his native country, no matter if it's good or bad.
“Czytelnik” publishes one of his most important works Niobe. This event re-opens the discussion about Gałczyński's literary works. The session tooks place on the 15th of December during the meeting of the poetry section of the Union of Polish Writers. Critique is presented by Hieronim Michalski, Jerzy Putrament acts as poet's advocate. As the result of the discussion, a decision is made, that the 18 months' prohibition period of publishing of Konstanty's works is now over.
By the end of the year Konstanty has recording sessions in Polish Radio and records number of his poems along with Niobe. The tapes lasted till today only thanks to Jerzy Kierst, who closed them in his private desk. The similar recording session of another poet, Julian Tuwim, was later erased.
1952
Another heart attack takes place in March.
After the treatment, poet visits Nieborów again, but nothing is able to reverse his bad mood.
In July another awaited trip do Pranie. Konstanty works on Księżyc [The Moon]. The poem itself is the best mirror of his bad psychic state.
The “PIW” Publishing House publishes Wit Stwosz, and “Czytelnik” — Wiersze liryczne [Lyrical Poems].
1953
First stage of rebuilding Warsaw's Old Town Konstanty memorizes with few poems.
In August — the fifth visit in Pranie; during that time, poet mainly works on: Dzikie wino [The Ivy], satirical poem Chryzostoma Bulwiecia podróż do Ciemnogrodu [Chrisostom Bulwiec's travel to Ciemnogrod] and a series of love poems — Pieśni [The Songs].
After returning to Warsaw, Konstanty works on the selection of his poems to be puslished by “PIW”. (It will show up in 1954).
On the 6th of December — third heart attack which causes death of the poet.
On the 9th of December — funeral ceremony on the Powązki Cemetary in Warsaw.
